HLA addresses the development of the whole child: mental, emotional, social, physical and spiritual. Each child is seen as inherently good, and the faculty and staff members at the Academy commit themselves to challenge and assist the child to grow and develop toward the ultimate goal of self-actualization. The nurturing atmosphere provides a total learning experience that helps each student reach his or her full potential, instilling personal values along with a more positive self-image.

Accepts students for enrollment from throughout the United States and abroad on a year round basis

Many Academy students struggle with low self-esteem; they typically have experienced problems at school and at home and have no clear ideas about what the future holds for them.

With a low student/teacher ratio of 9:1, Hidden Lake Academy uses an individualized approach and flexible block scheduling to allow for intensive study of selected subjects for remediation as well as enrichment. Hidden Lake Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) as a -traditional+ school

Every day and every weekend there are opportunities for voluntary recreational activities both on and off campus. Students choose the offered activities in which they desire to participate. These selections range from quiet games and crafts to competitive sporting events and tournaments.

Offers a strong Therapeutic curriculum coupled with specialized -adjunct+ Therapeutic services which address other clinical issues such as addictive, compulsive and self-destructive behaviors.

On campus, a 14 acre lake, lodge, tennis courts and a lakeside gazebo offer countless social and recreational opportunities, while the surrounding mountains facilitate easy access to hiking trails, camping, whitewater rafting, fishing and rock climbing.

From the date of enrollment, parents will have contact with a Peer Group Communicator who will give progress reports. School Communicators who are Master+s-level Counselors are available during regular school hours. A weekly phone time will be established between parent and child during the first week of enrollment. Written communication is always welcome by standard letters or email.

To provide a learning experience for students that have not succeeded academically or socially in other settings. We address the development of a whole child. We facilitate intellectual development through academic challenge and support; emotional and social growth through supportive group therapy; spiritual insight through a variety of inspirational opportunities; and physical de+R43velopment through recreational and wilderness based experiences.
