Wellspring recognizes that 4 to 8 weeks spent at camp is a critical first step, not a complete solution. This is why Wellspring offers a comprehensive After-Care Program, involving families.
Camp Wellspring is the premier clinical summer program for overweight young women ages 16 and up to lose weight.
Session 1: June 26 –July 23
Session 2: July 26 –August 22
You may reserve space over the telephone by contacting Wellspring. Although health insurers and HMOs will not currently cover the entire cost of Wellspring Camps, most insurers will cover part of the cost (up to $2,000 per 4-week session for cognitive-behavioral therapy and other therapeutic components). The entire cost of attending camp should be tax deductible for most families. On April 2, 2002, the IRS announced a new policy (IRS Ruling 202-19) stating that "Obesity is medically accepted to be a disease in its own right." For taxpayers, this means that treatment specifically for obesity can now be claimed as a medical deduction following a referral from a physician.
